Client: New York City Department of Parks and Recreation
Location: New York, NY
As a fellow for the Design Trust for Public Space, Michele Adams of Meliora Design helped New York City Department of Parks and Recreation to create a set of sustainable guidelines for the city's 29,000 acres of Parkland. Park Design for the 21st Century culminates in the publication of the High Performance Landscape Guidelines (2010)- the third in the trilogy of sustainable design manuals. The Design Trust's previous publications, High Performance Building Guidelines (1999) and High Performance Infrastructure Guidelines (2005) set the stage for a paradigm shift in the way New York City is constructed. High Performance Landscape Guidelines sets new standards for sustainability in public parks of NYC.
