Client: Ralston Center
Location: Philadelphia, PA
The Ralston Center, a non-profit organization providing services to clients over age 55, is located on the campus of the University of Pennsylvania in a historic structure. As a part of building renovations, Ralston elected to incorporate stormwater measures to reduce their stormwater footprint. The first phase included construction of a rain garden, built in conjunction with a new ADA entrance. The rain garden improves the landscape and captures parking lot runoff. The second phase includes a more formal "lawn" bioretention area that will manage the paths and plazas in coordination with improvements to the main entrance. Meliora provided the stormwater design and permitting services for both installations.
